Why us?

The Convergence Story

Founded in 2007 by Drew Wildner and Steve Hartz, Cincinnati-based Convergence Research is a team of dedicated industry experts committed to providing Credit Reporting Agencies (CRA’s) with accurate, timely research. Having spent a significant amount of time in leadership roles at a CRA prior to the founding of Convergence, Drew and Steve recognized how important it is for a CRA to have a quality wholesale partner they can trust. Convergence was born from a desire to do things the right way and use best-in-class technology to do things more efficiently. Their previous experience working within a CRA allowed them to established Convergence and its guiding principles based on their extensive knowledge of what CRA’s need from a wholesaler to be successful. In addition to the team’s extensive industry expertise, Convergence’s founders leverage their technological expertise to continuously innovate, making their customers more effective and successful.

Drew Wildner, Co-Founder

Prior to founding Convergence, Drew was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a CRA. He also held leadership positions in many other industries including healthcare, insurance, banking and the public sector for both small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. Drew’s previous roles encompass all aspects of business software development, including on-staff developer, technical team leader, lead architect and Chief Technology Officer. During his two decades of experience as a software developer, Drew identified the need for the industry to continually innovate through technology.

Drew holds several software certifications and is a graduate of Ohio University. Drew’s outside interests include racing motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.

Steve Hartz, Co-Founder

Steve spent many years prior to the founding of Convergence as a technology leader in the employment screening industry. Prior to founding Convergence, Steve worked in a number of different technology leadership roles for a CRA. Steve’s technical expertise and passion for innovation continue to be a driving force for growth and success within Convergence.

Steve is a graduate of Ohio State University. Steve’s outside interests include spending time with his family and all things related to soccer.
